the party animal

so much goes into planning a party.. invitations, the food, the entertainment, + of course the decorations! but truly nothing matters more than to get to spend time with family + friends. never forget that!

INVITES + PARTY FAVORS

always pick a theme that fits the birthday boy/girl best!

this little man (my son) absolutely loves animals of all kinds.. dinos, cows, birds, puppies, lions.. the list goes on! so the first step was designing an invitation + some party favors that suited the theme.

we worked with Maura the owner of (@mauramichelledesigns)! if you haven't had a chance to work with her for your wedding, parties, + any event you are missing out! Maura is the easiest to work with + her designs are so unique!

FOOD + DESSERT

to be honest the food is always the best part. you can never go wrong with Costco (@costco_doesitagain) catering for your big events! we went with croissant deli sandwiches, chips, yogurt, + fruit/veggie cups.

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

cheap, easy, + always tastes good!

okay the best part. check out this cake made by Betsi (@betsibakes). I have known Betsi since high school + she is the sweetest human. she lives in lincoln but she's known for her deliciousness all over nebraska! Betsi has so many flavor choices to choose from- we went with oreo, funfetti, + mocha. SO good.

ENTERTAINMENT

#1 entertainment for a 2 year old's birthday is always a bounce house! this tiger belly bounce house was a huge hit + from Jumpers4you (website). they are based in papillion + super easy to work with!

DECORATIONS

i had my friend Amanda (@livelaughscrap) make the name banner- she's my go to when anyone wants the cutest detailed banners + touch to a party! its currently hanging in our playroom to add a cute touch! Amanda always has holiday banners for sale + the best reels on instagram, you have to check her out.

of course the POP + other decorations by yours truly (@candipop.party)! the dream of throwing a birthday party for your child + being able to show off your creativity for your close friends + family is so special. i have always been about the details + thats what i love to share with everyone!

i went for reds, light blues, + light greens! need party tips? ..always use what you can from around the house- hint the animal figures that we used for decorations! i made mini party hats for them + they turned out super cute! another great tip is to try to remove your "normal" every day decorations. pictures, toys, etc. it takes away from the party theme + really helps make all your details POP! i mean you cant let anyone know you live in your house...right ;) joking!

little man's hat + shoes from Little Mango (@shoplittlemango) // shirt made by me! (@candicemarietwig)

that's all for now! thanks for staying + reading along, cant wait to feature more parties for you all!

XO- Candice
